Revitalize your outdoor living space by stripping away grey oxidation and slippery algae to reveal the natural beauty of your wood or composite deck.
Safety Hazard
Algae makes wood slippery like ice.
On Martha's Vineyard, your deck is an extension of your living room. But UV rays and moisture turn wood gray (oxidation) and encourage the growth of green algae and black mold.
It's not just ugly; it's dangerous. Wet algae on a wood deck creates a slip-and-fall hazard for your family and guests. We remove these hazards and bring the color back to your wood.
Eliminates the dead gray fibers on the surface.
We don't "fur" or splinter your wood.
Many companies simply blast wood with high pressure. This destroys the wood grain (furring) and leaves "stop and start" marks. We use a chemistry-based approach.
We apply a specialized sodium-based cleaner that lifts dirt, kills mold spores, and softens dead gray wood fibers. This allows us to rinse the wood clean with very low pressure.
Cleaning darkens wood. We follow up with an acidic brightener that neutralizes the chemicals, restores the pH balance, and pops the natural honey-gold color of the wood grain.
The most common deck type. It turns gray quickly. Our process removes the gray oxidation and prepares the wood perfectly for clear sealers or stains.
Expensive hardwoods like Ipe or Mahogany require delicate care. We gently clean them to remove mold without stripping the natural oils, preparing them for oiling.
Composite decks aren't maintenance-free; they grow spotting mold. We use manufacturer-approved methods to kill the mold without damaging the plastic cap.
High pressure will damage wood. It causes "furring" (splintering). That is why we rely on professional cleaners to do the heavy lifting, using only low to medium pressure for the rinse.
We focus on the cleaning and preparation. However, we work closely with the island's best painters. A professional cleaning from us is the absolute best preparation for a stain job.
Yes! Stockade, cedar picket, and post-and-rail fences clean up beautifully. Removing the moss and lichen extends the life of the fence significantly.
