Dock & Pier Cleaning

Eliminate slip hazards and protect your marine structures. We safely remove slippery algae and bird droppings using eco-friendly methods that keep our island waters clean.

Algae on dock

Slip Hazard

Wet algae is as slippery as ice.

A Clean Dock is a Safe Dock

The constant exposure to moisture and tides creates a thick layer of green algae and slime on docks and piers. When wet, this surface becomes incredibly dangerous for children, guests, and crew members.

In addition to the slip hazard, acidic bird droppings and salt accumulation eat away at the wood fibers and corrode metal fasteners, shortening the lifespan of your expensive marine structure.

Environmental Promise

We understand the fragility of our ponds and harbors. We strictly adhere to "Blue Cleaning" practices, ensuring no harsh chemicals, bleach, or detergents run off into the water.

Our Methodology

Responsible Marine Cleaning

Cleaning over water requires different techniques than cleaning on land. We focus on containment and mechanical cleaning power rather than relying on heavy chemicals.

Surface Prep

We wet the wood thoroughly and manually scrub heavy deposits of guano (bird droppings) to prevent them from becoming airborne or dissolving into the water column.

Hydro-Scrubbing

We use high-volume fresh water with specialized surface cleaners that contain the spray. This lifts the algae physically without needing bleach.

Rinse & Inspect

A final fresh water rinse reveals the natural wood grain, providing traction and restoring the aesthetic appeal of your waterfront property.

Dock Cleaning FAQ

Do I need to move my boat?

Usually, no. We are very careful to spray away from vessels. However, if you have canvas covers or delicate upholstery right next to the cleaning area, we may ask that they be covered or temporarily moved.

Where do you get the water?

We require a freshwater spigot within 200 feet of the dock. We cannot use salt water to clean, as the goal is to remove salt.

Will the cleaning harm fish or shellfish?

No. We use only fresh water pressure for the majority of dock cleaning. If a cleaning agent is absolutely necessary for stubborn stains, we use biodegradable, marine-safe products that do not harm aquatic life.
